The Indiana Department of Education has released its annual evaluation of student achievement by school and school corporation and under the new letter grade system all Speedway Schools have received the letter grade “A” and are labeled as Exemplary.  This recognition was based primarily upon the statewide achievement testing, attendance, and federal rankings. Speedway students, with the support of their teachers, families, and the community, produced exemplary results.  Current students should feel encouraged to know that they have continued the standards of excellence which have been established and sustained in the Town of Speedway over several generations.  It is the position of the school corporation that such recognition should be owned by the entire community as it is through extensive civic support (SPT, Lions’ Club, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, Boosters, etc.) and volunteer programs (organized tutoring through Speedway Baptist Church, mentoring, etc.) that our students receive the support necessary to succeed.
